Why Is My Bluehost Email Not Working?
In case you are having trouble with your Bluehost email, here are some reasons why it’s not working.
Bluehost hosting services use cPanel as their main control panel software. The following is a list of common cPanel features that may cause issues with your Bluehost email:
Must Read: Bluehost Webmail
Email Forwarding – This is a feature that allows you to forward all emails sent to a specific address so it goes to your primary email address. If you are using this feature and it’s not working, check the following:
– The SMTP Authentication feature must be disabled (for more information, see https://kb.bluehost.com/articles/SMTP+Authentication).
– The email address you are forwarding to must be a valid email account with an ISP that accepts inbound mail. This means you cannot forward all emails received at the domain (such as user@example.com) to another, non-existent inbox (such as user@nonexistentinbox.com).
Email Autoforwarding – This is a feature that automatically forwards all emails sent from one email account to another, different email account. If you are using this feature and it’s not working, check the following:
– SMTP Authentication must be enabled (for more information, see https://kb.bluehost.com/articles/SMTP+Authentication).
– The email address the email is being forwarded to must be a valid email account with an ISP that accepts inbound mail. This means you cannot forward all emails received at the domain (such as user@example.com) to another, non-existent inbox (such as user@nonexistentinbox.com).
– The email address the email is being forwarded from must be able to receive mail. You cannot forward all emails received at one domain (such as example.com) to another account (such as non-existentinbox@example2.com)
Spam Mail – If you’re receiving spam emails, check the following:
– Make sure your email address is not listed as the “From” address.
– Make sure you are not “replying to” any spam emails (some spam filters see this as confirmation that your email is valid).
– You may be getting spam because several addresses have been used to make purchases online with your domain, and the spammers are guessing these addresses. To prevent this, make sure all purchases (for example domain registration) are made using your primary email address. This also applies to online surveys and registrations you’ve submitted.
