Webmail can’t receive emails?
We got a webmail system and we can’t receive emails through webmail. Does anyone know what’s going on?
reply 1:
Good day, webmail doesn’t work when the receiving mail server is “localhost”. Because webmails works with pop3 and localhost is ipv6 only. You should either change your receiving mail server to a public IP or, use webmails smtp settings.
reply 2:
webmail works with the same settings as sendmail… so either webmails web server is down, which you can check by trying to open webmails page from outside your network, or webmails security setup forbids the receiving mails. In any case webmails web server should be checked before webmails smtpd config as webmails web server requires port 80 to work properly.
reply 3:
If webmails web server is working then it must be a webmails SMTP configuration issue… i suggest you check webmails logs for any error messages… otherwise webmails mails might be blocked by webmails ISP or webmails web server is not running at port 80 for some reason.
reply 4:
webmails smtp servers requires authentication and webmails smtp servers does not support tls (starttls). you should contact webmails web hosting provider to make sure webmails web server has ssl configured properly or find out webmails web server IP, log into webmails web server and configure webmails smtp servers there (starttls).
reply 5:
webmails smtp servers requires authentication but webmails web hosting provider configured webmails web hosting provider to allow anonymous connections which is not recommended. You should contact webmails web hosting provider to make sure webmails web server configuration will not be messed up by webmails web hosting provider updates or webmails web server requires a domain name.
