is a webmail-client for Linux, written in PHP. Development began in mid-2004, the project was started to fill some needs that were left unfilled by other projects. Ako Webmail can be used as a fully functional webmail client, or it can be deployed on its own server to provide email services for your organization.

Ako Webmail was first released to the public on November 19, 2004. The current version of Ako Webmail is 2.0. which contains many major updates (see below).
